Happy 18th AJ

And today my 'baby' turns 18

18 !!!!!!!!!!

How on earth did that happen, where did those years disappear

How is my baby now 18 and 6ft 6in tall ?????

If you are a parent to a baby or toddler, cherish every single precious second, for in the blink of an eye, that tiny bundle of joy is all grown and you wonder how the hell it happened so fast

Happy birthday darling, love you and proud of the lovely young man you have grown to be

Love and cherished moments

Robbie's birthday card

 Good evening

I am still working my way through earlier cards

This one was made for Robbie, his birthday was  on the 5th of this month

I can't take credit for this design, it is a variation of a design I have seen by many people over on pinterest. I am not sure who came up with it originally but whoever it was thankyou, its a great idea for a guitar loving guy

Robbie actually owns a special tool for making guitar picks so creating card ones for this creation just required a little secret  'borrowing' of his punch

Simple but effective !

Love and musical mischief

Gillian's Birthday card

Tonight I have a card from back in January to share

I made this for my lovely friend Gillian

The dies and papers are all new

The more observant of you might notice a slight colour change in the background of some of my photos

I recently painted the kitchen

It had been magnolia since we moved in after the renovation and it was a colour that did nothing for the units, everything looked bland and uninteresting. I picked up  a colour that is evident in the pattern of the worktops as inspiration, and Farrow and Ball's French Grey was the perfect match

I am absolutely delighted with the finish, the kitchen looks so much more homely

I have the painting bug now, just need to choose a colour for the upstairs bathroom, magnolia be gone

Love and colour therapy

Sympathies

Scrolling through my photos for yesterdays post, I realised I have quite a few cards to share for the last few weeks

I made this one a while ago now for Ben's mum, his grandma passed away at Christmas time

I had met this lovely lady and know her loss will be felt deeply

I used a simple palette of white and pale pearlescent green, aiming for an elegant and serene style

Thinking of a lovely lady as I type this, a wonderful character who helped to shape the man my daughter loves, for that I will always be grateful

Love and sympathy

Valentine's at The Langford

Neil booked us onto a campsite last weekend to have a battery master fitted to our campervan

The weekend coincided with Valentine's day and my birthday

And what an amazing weekend we had, I was utterly spoiled as always

I made him this card

I used some of my new dies and some gorgeous burlap ribbon I have been saving for someone special

The campsite we visited was The Cornish Farm on the outskirts of Taunton in Somerset and our work on the van was completed by Van Bitz who are owners of the site and are conveniently situated there too

The first day there was extremely cold but beautifully sunny and bright, we explored Taunton and indulged a little shopping

Part of my birthday treat was a meal at The Langford Fivehead

I can highly recommend this stunning boutique hotel and restaurant

The staff were excellent, attentive, extremely cheerful and obliging

The surroundings were simply gorgeous

And the food ... out of this world

On arrival we were seated in this elegant sitting room with a roaring log fire

We enjoyed nibbles with our drinks as our meal orders were prepared

The two small dining rooms were intimate and cosy, just six tables in each room

We ordered caramalized onion soup and cheese twists to start

Our main was a sumptuous onion tart with parsnip puree and vegetables

Neil opted for the chocolate melt in the middle pudding with salted caramel ice-cream

And I thoroughly enjoyed the panna cotta with rhubarb and ginger

All in all we had an amazing weekend and will definitely be taking a trip back to Taunton in the summer to explore further, might even have to treat ourselves to another meal at The Langford

Love and luscious posh nosh
